How the game works
Every episode plays by the same rules. The internet says one side is better. We write a scorecard first, then check the numbers. The total decides.
01
Pick the sides
Two or three contestants from different worlds, the kind nobody thinks to put in the same ring. A person can face an animal, a country can face a company.
02
Write the scorecard first
The rounds and the ruler for each round are written down before anyone looks up a number. A round added after seeing who is losing would be a rigged match.
03
They say
Each round opens with what people say about a side, backed by a real poll, survey or headline with its source and year. The show never says it. They do.
04
Real numbers, both sides
The same ruler for every side, the numbers on screen, the source named out loud. When nobody has measured something, the ref works it out from real inputs and it wears a dotted tag: the ref's estimate.
05
One winner, on that card
The round winner takes the points and the scoreboard counts up. The highest total wins. The last line says what the score cannot prove.
Measured A published number, its source and year said out loud.
Ref's estimate A number worked out from real inputs, the inputs shown on screen.
